I’m so tired I forgot to title this post, Plus 2 free wads of wisdom.

By Wednesday of this week I’d acted in an episode of The Louise Log for Season 3, and kicked off 32 Listen To Your Mother cities for 2014. Instead of creative writing now, I’ll be creative sleeping. But before I go, I have two wads of wisdom to impart:

    1. I put myself way out there for The Louise Log. Wayyy out there. (No, not nudity noGodno.) If you thought my espousing creativity advice through Mexican Wrestling was strange, well, umm…just wait. The script changes kept coming, and every time my character got crazier and crazier and I grew more and more uneasy. And then you know what? I went for it. On the first take I gave over to this role completely and trusted the director (the wonderful Anne Flournoy) wrote it for me for a reason. I have no idea what the experience of watching the final cut of the episode will be–likely I’ll cringe throughout–but I had FUN shooting it and I surprised myself. WAD OF WISDOM? Jump out of your comfort zone–all the way out. See what happens. As grown ups we get comfortable and think we know what we’re made of and where the limits of our capabilities begin and end. The other side of terrifying is exhilarating–embrace the rare chance to see what lives there.

    2. I hoped to hire someone to create our LTYM season announcement video this year, but I simply ran out of time. I created what I thought was a “good enough” run-of-the-mill photo slide show. Several friends have told me that it’s the best one yet. WAD OF WISDOM? We are not the best judges of our own work. We think we know. We don’t.

In the meantime, Please enjoy this video I created to launch LTYM’s new season. Thank you, Friends.

    1. “We are not the best judges of our own work. We think we know. We don’t.”
      So true.

I wish I could upload my reel to the Internet. Because the last piece is from a TV pilot I did where they aged me, made my hair white, and I was only wearing a bra on top. And not a pretty bra either. Every time I see it I’m grateful the pilot never got picked up. Because afterwards I went into a bodega, WHERE THEY KNOW ME, and no one recognized me.

    2. So where can we see this performance? I’ve never been one to leap too far out of my comfort zone (without drug or alcohol-inducing enhancements), but I have all kinds of appreciation for those who do.

    3. Ann, LTYM was the best thing that I have done in years, all because I went way outside of my comfort zone. If you don’t ever try, you’ll never know what amazing things are out there. I cannot wait to see the episode of The Louise Log that you are in.

    4. I want to thank you for the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone next year because I’m auditioning for a spot in LTYM, The OC.

I know I’ll be risking my heart – after all, there’s a good chance I won’t be selected.
But I will never be selected if I don’t try.

      So.
      Jump.

    5. “As grown ups we get comfortable and think we know what we’re made of and where the limits of our capabilities begin and end. The other side of terrifying is exhilarating–embrace the rare chance to see what lives there.” This made me cry.
