Behind the scenes: I’m an awesome clapboard!

Hi. How’s your day going? Might it be improved by your witnessing my super-clapper panache? How about I talk at you for 2.75 minutes while you enjoy an undercurrent of whimsical background music?

Here’s the True Madison Story on this Video:

    1. I don’t know why I sound so curt on the “YOUR NEIGHBORS” part, I have lovely neighbors.

    2. My grandmas aren’t alive anymore, so that’s an odd point of reference coming from me.

    3. My skin has never looked like this, ever.  Even during infancy. But even then I knew my way around an eyeliner pencil.

    4. “Husbands crying a lot” not my best sales pitch ever.

    5. LTYM really does change lives sometimes, and often perspectives. I feel so grateful to my friends who made this video. I love it because it captures the heart of LTYM as beautifully as it captures my fake skin.

    Thanks for watching!

    1. That doesn’t look like it was shot in HD. If it wasn’t, that’s why your skin looks so luminous. HD killed the complexions of men and women everywhere. If that was HD, it’s not good HD. And where can I get some?

    2. Wow! I went to your thangity at Blogher last year but I didn’t realize you did a national event as well.

I see you’re not in Philly yet. Put us on your list! We have a great memoir/spoken word scene going on these days. Perhaps you could link up with First Person Arts, an organization that does twice-monthly story slams and runs the awesome First Person Arts Festival. http://www.firstpersonarts.org/programs2/storyslams/

Good luck with this year’s program!

    3. I was in LYTM Chicago last year – and I’m looking forward to seeing it THIS year – and maybe, if I’m lucky, I’ll be selected for the cast NEXT year. LTYM changed my life in many ways – not the least of which, it added 14 brand new friends for me. And 17 new ones this year. And a man can’t have too many friends with a shared experience, ya know?

    4. Must find secret to Ann Imig skin concoction.

You look beautiful, you shine with radiance for love of this project. That’s the luminescence we see.

(my husband’s pretty mad you’re telling the world how he broke down at last year’s show…)

    5. I want that whimsical background music to follow me around ALL DAY LONG.
Oh. And since everyone else is commenting on the skin, I’ll say I like your hair.

That didn’t sound creepy did it?
If so, picture me saying the same thing with whimsical music in the background.

      Better, right?

p.s. Congratulations on building such a meaningful event from scratch. Someday, I REALLY hope I can be a part of LTYM. And that I can see you do the clapboard in person.

    6. I watched this on FB the other day (or maybe the LTYM site?), but had not seen your little comments here, and I’m loving them. Your skin and eyeliner really are quite stunning, by the way. Hair and smile, too. xo

Comment on crying husbands as sales pitch made me laugh. You are such a funny woman. And so amazingly empathetic and ambitious and smart and creative. I love what you’ve built with this, Ann. So inspired.
